The sequence field can duplicate and reverse, not just reorder

Because the output is built by copying pages in the order you list them, the sequence is not required to be a permutation of the original. Type 1,1,2,3 and page one appears twice. Type 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and you have reversed a ten-page document — the standard fix for a stack scanned back-to-front. Omit a number entirely and that page is simply not copied, which quietly makes this a deletion tool as well.

Two practical uses fall out of that. Duplex scanning that produced all the odd pages then all the even pages backwards can be reassembled with an interleaved sequence. And a booklet imposed for print can be un-imposed by listing the reading order. Neither needs a separate tool.

Frequently asked questions

Can I duplicate a page using this tool?
Yes. List the same page number more than once. The sequence 1,1,2 produces a three-page document where page one appears twice.
How do I reverse the page order?
Type the numbers in descending order, from the last page to the first. This is the usual fix for a document scanned back-to-front.
What happens to pages I leave out of the sequence?
They are omitted from the output. Leaving out a page is equivalent to deleting it, though the Delete PDF Pages tool is more direct if that is all you want.
Can I reorder by dragging thumbnails instead of typing?
The thumbnails are shown for reference so you can see what each page contains. The order itself is set by the sequence field, which is faster and less error-prone for documents beyond a handful of pages.
Do bookmarks and links follow the pages?
No. Internal links and bookmarks reference the original page positions and are not rewritten. This is a limitation of page-level copying, and applies to any browser-based reordering tool.
